Born in Ahmedabad, India, Vihangini is a self-taught artist who specialises in acrylic paintings and portraits using conté crayons. She is also a montessori trained teacher who taught in Miranda Hall, Kolkata for 25 years.
Her work is often inspired by Indian mythology and her immediate surroundings. Briefly mentored by Sri Shantaram Badakare, a renowned portrait artist in Mumbai, India, Vihangini learnt the finer nuances of form associated with portraiture via photographs.
Her artwork is showcased in many private residences throughout the U.S, U.K and India. She has also participated in various group exhibitions in Kolkata, India (Khazana, Taj Bengal; Academy of Fine Arts; ANZ Grindlays).
